Strandhill SEC received funding from SEAI (bridge funded by Sligo Co.Co) to contract Global Green Ltd. to analyse Strandhill’s baseline energy use, create a register of energy opportunities and set out a roadmap for the community to reduce its energy use.
Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments were carried out on 10 representative houses, the national school and Strand Campus.
Recommendations are made on how these buildings can reduce their carbon emissions and energy spend, but carrying out retrofitting measures.
Recommendations are also made for the community to explore active travel opportunities and renewable energy options.
